The ‘Morgenster’ is a sail training vessel, taking up to 36 trainees and 10 crew on voyages all over the World. 24 can sleep on bunks in 4 two person cabins and 4 four persons cabins. Another 12 can sleep in hammocks in the saloon. Click interior plan. To have a look around click accommodation.
On daytrips up to 12 miles off shore we may take 90 passengers.
‘Morgenster’ sails a clipper-brig rig. These rigs were developed by the Americans during their struggle for independency. The heavy English man-a-war’s were not fit to catch the light and fast American who used the “hit and run” tactics. The famous clippers were developed from these fast schooners and brigs. Data sheet you will find here.
The government regulates the ship’s security. There are many rules to obey whilst building and every year we pass a survey to see the equipment is fit and maintenance is well enough taken care of. After the survey we get our safety certificates. More about safety click here.
